SUMMARY

The Manager of Communications is responsible for aiding in the development and execution of a comprehensive, integrated and uniform communication strategy and direction for Philadelphia Union. The Manager of Communications, with direction from the Vice President of Communications, will craft and manage collaborative outreach strategies with Philadelphia Union’s growing register of corporate and government partners, and craft and oversee effective, integrated organizational communication strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Plan and implement an integrated communications strategy.
· Act as a liaison and spokesperson for the organization to the public and media.
· Proactively deliver key organizational information and monitor external comments.
· Field and direct responses to all business? and soccer?related media inquiries.
· Aid in the execution of all external communications, messaging and general promotion for the education, research and corporate outreach program.
· Develop ideas and opportunities for feature articles, interviews, presentations and other communications activities that promote awareness of the company.
· Manage promotional activities for corporate outreach and resource programs, projects, and events.
· Assist the business managers and player personnel with public speaking engagements, presentations and preparation of articles for publication.
· Coordinate external communications including the designing, writing and editing of print publications and promotional e?mails.
· Oversee the development and monitoring of content for the Philadelphia Union website.
· Develop and execute a comprehensive media relations strategy to gain recognition of the Philadelphia Union brand.
· Analyze market data, target audience and other demographic data for use in communication program development.
· Perform all other communications?related tasks as needed.
