The Assistant Director is an integral member of the Athletic Director’s Administrative staff and will be expected to exert a high degree of creativity in the accomplishment of expected outcomes of this position.

The Assistant Athletic Director oversees the Athletic Media Relations office, including activities related to public relations and the production of various publications. He/She will promote and publicize every aspect of Intercollegiate Athletics and will be responsible for the operating budget and procurement needs of the Athletics Media Relations office.

Duties include but are not limited to:

* The development and distribution of sports information to various media outlets including the content and layout of all printed material and website content. Arranges for all sports related photo sessions.

* Planning and managing all press conferences and arranging sports information coverage for home/away competitions.

* Writing and editing game programs for all sports and maintaining accurate and current statistical information for each individual sports program. Provides statistical reports to the NCAA and the media, as required.

*Serving as the departmental liaison with media representatives. Coordinates interest features and stories, interviews, news conferences and media luncheons, answers requests for promotional material and completes questionnaires and reports.

* Organizing all aspects of the Athletic Hall of Fame

* Organiziing and controlling press row operations at all home athletic contests

Requirements:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.

Interested Candidates Must Have: * Prior writing/editorial experience * Prior experience in a Division I Athletics Program

Additional Desired Qualifications include: * Statistical experience * Photography knowledge
